Rooster joined the Conservatory as Director of Canine Programming in December 2025. He is an award-winning concert cellist and jazz flutist, most recently seen as a featured member of the onstage big band of Broadway’s Just In Time. His cello career has taken him all over the world, including an infamous residency at The École Normale de Musique de Paris Alfred Cortot Conservatoire. Rooster has released four critically-acclaimed studio albums, receiving a Grammy award nomination in 2025 for his eclectic free jazz record “Snack Jazz” featuring jazz greats Cecile McLorin-Salvant and Willie Jones III. Rooster holds degrees in both cello performance and jazz studies from Julliard, as well as a PhD in bio-medical engineering from Harvard.
